DREAMAKER

Interview with Elisa C. Martín (28 February, 2004)

Q>> Hi Elisa, how are you doing today? Aren't you tired of answering interviews yet ? :)
A>> Hi my friend, I'm fine thank you. Hahaha... no no, I love this work, it's a pleasure for me.

Q>> I suppose every journalist tries drawing every possible parallel between Dark Moor and Dreamaker... Do you honestly think/hear there's something left of the old Dark Moor sound in this new release of yours?
A>> I think that in this first album there are three song that can be compared to the sound of Dark Moor but I can say that we do more aggressive, melodic and direct music… I think that we are offering something new in Heavy Metal. People are bored to listen the same kind of riffs, the same vocal lines… I think we are offering something different...

Q>> How did you work on this album? Was it like a relief or just another hard work (or both...)?
A>> Really, this work has come directly from the heart... it has been like a relief indeed. We made the music we wanted to make without censorship. That's why it is so special.

Q>> Fear and loneliness seem to be a quite recurrent topic in your lyrics. Did you try to exorcise these feelings through your music?
A>> I wrote these songs during a moment of my life in which it felt quite bad but I like it. I like very much to write about myself, my experiences, my feelings... it's good for me when I sing my own songs...

Q>> Have you found a replacement for Roberto P.C yet?
A>> Yes, his name is Nino Ruiz and this guy loves music like me. Sometimes we go together to small pubs and play covers of Janis Joplin, Deep Purple, Jazz, Celtic just for the fun. He is a really good keyboardplayer and guitarplayer too. I'm very satisfied with him.

Q>> Why did he leave the band? I thought everyone who left Dark Moor was pretty much with the same ideas...
A>> Roberto left Dark Moor before us, although the reason was the same... so when we decided to do another band he wanted to be with us again. Roberto thought that it would take more time before being a new band but when people began to call us to do tours, he had to leave Dreamaker beacause he had no time enough.

Q>> Sonic Pump and Finnvox, the magical combination again... Did you choose the studios or was it your label's choice? Anyway, how do you feel about the result?
A>> Our music needed a powerful sound and we looked for a studio for it. Soon, all of us decided to record the album at Sonic Pump ´cos we have good references about it, and sincerely the sound of our cd is really good. We're very satisfied. Honestly, there are good studios in Spain but not for Metal.

Q>> Any news about the April tour? Are you gonna come in Belgium?
A>> I know that the european tour will start in Germany on april 7th. I think that we'll play in Belgium, I'm looking forward to play in your country! In May we'll go to Japan with Labyrinth to play two gigs (Tokio and Osaka).

Q>> Did I forget to talk about something important?
A>> Hahahaha! I think that all this interview was important.

Thak you to for your interest, many spanish kisses.

RNO> Spanish kisses ? That's really cool :)
